Check Out These 5 Crazy Pheasants!

Who you callin' overdressed?

Looks like known pheasant species number somewhere above 30 – apparently the experts disagree on the exact number, or at least websites do….

Not sure if anyone has hunted ’em all, or whether you can, or how other species run or flush, but here are five pheasant species that mostly look too garishly colored – an odd observation since the cock-bird by the same name we know and love also is a bit overdressed…though not as much.

Actually, it’s four pheasant species plus one that looks like an unholy marriage of a pheasant and a crow. Fun Friday fare – enjoy….

This golden pheasant is bummed he wasn't cast in the "Sex Pistols on Broadway."

The tail on this Lady Amherst pheasant cock is looong, but we still bet it can fly!

This Himalayan Monal pheasant got us thinking...about hiking the Himalayas with a shotgun....

This Satyr Tragopan pheasant is our favorite – cool!

Here it is, the Pheasant Coucal, believe it or not a "ground-dwelling cuckoo."
