Go Later for Ruffies in MN?

This MN bird is saying, 'I dare you to try and find me....' (U of MN photo)

We came across this final paragraph in a short missive from Sam Cook of the Duluth News Tribune:

“I think [ruffed grouse hunting will] be similar to last year. There were plenty of birds out there, but the leaves held on for a long time, and when leaves left the trees and the weather turned nice, people had moved on to other things.”

That’s a quote from Martha Minchak, DNR assistant area wildlife manager in Duluth, and the key part is the last part: “when leaves left the trees and the weather turned nice, people had moved on to other things.”

Our question is: WHAT OTHER THINGS could be more important than grouse hunting?! (Do not ask your wife this question!)

We may hit MN this fall/winter. If we do, we might go later than planned….
